dougDouglas Easterly was born and raised in Alaska. After studying fine art at UAA, University of Dallas and University of Texas, he developed a variety of technology-based skills, particularly computer programming. The new millennium featured his collaboration with Matt Kenyon on SWAMP, which was (and continues to be) a highly successful body of new media / critical art/design projects that have won numerous awards and featured at such venues as FILE, WRO, MoMA and Guggenheim Bilbao. He currently operates his studio in Wellington, New Zealand where he is an Associate Professor at Victoria University of Wellington. Themes in his current work continue to interrogate contemporary culture, while resources a broader range of interests including mathematics, computer programming, biology and a blend of digital/traditional studio methods Current CV
